Police rescue child within 32 hours
BUTWAL, June 27: Rupandehi Police has successfully rescued a child abducted on Monday evening from a hotel on Wednesday morning.
Tek Bahadur Thapa's six-year-old daughter Sabitri was kidnapped at around 8 pm on Monday evening from their house in Tilottama Municipality-12. On Wednesday, police rescued Sabitri from Butwal Plaza and Restaurant in Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-5 at around 7 am within 32 hours of abduction.

The child was kept hidden in room number 103 of the hotel, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Hridaya Thapa, chief of the District Police Office (DPO), Rupandehi.
Police also arrested Jayaram Das of Birgunj Metropolitan City-27 of Parsa district on the charge of abducting the minor.
SP Thapa further said that police have intensified investigation into the case to find out more details. According to the family members, Das took advantage of the absence of the child's father and entered into the house. At that time, only the mother and daughter were at home.
A team of Area Police Office (APO), Butwal led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bhim Lal Bhattarai was deployed to find the child and the kidnapper.
Das had been working as a petty contractor for the construction of Raini River Bridge near the house of the child since nine months.
As per the preliminary investigation of police, it has been found that Das was infatuated with Sabitri's mother and was pressurizing her for marriage. As her mother refused his marriage proposal, he decided to abduct the child to exert pressure on her.
