KHOTANG, July 14: Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the Chief Water and Irrigation Division Officer in Diktel, Khotang, was arrested on the charge of corruption on Tuesday.
A team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) apprehended Shrestha when he was receiving Rs 9, 34,000 in bribes from a customer in his office today. At the same time, Rs 99,500 earned through illegal means was also seized.

According to the spokesperson for the CIAA, Pradip Kumar Koirala, the details of the incident will be made public shortly.
The Division Office has been sealed following the incident.
Shrestha has been accused of bargaining for the money time and again during office hours by customers.
