KATHMANDU, Aug 30: British Embassy on Wednesday announced the names of the winners of 2017/2018 Chevening Scholarships.
According to a press statement issued by the Embassy, a total 15 Nepali applicants were awarded the UK Government's prestigious scholarships. They will fly to UK next month to study for a Master's degree in various UK universities.

The recipients of Chevening scholarship this year include Abyaya Neopane, Alina Saba, Amol Acharya, Basanta Sharma, Bidhya Sharma, Dhruba Ghimire, Jyotir Nisha, Karuna Parajuli, Kiran Chapagain, Niroj Panta and Nishchhal Kharal. Prakriti Gautam, Sagar Dhakal, Sagun Gurung and Smita Magar are also among those winning the Chevening Award this year.
Chevening is a fully funded scholarships program, which covers the cost of university tuition fees, a monthly stipend, travel costs to and from the UK, an arrival allowance, a homeward departure allowance, a thesis grant, a grant for study materials, a study travel allowance, the cost of one visa application and a travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK, said the statement.
The Embassy has also announced opening of the applications for Chevening Scholarship for te year 2018/19.
