KATHMANDU, June 23: Nepal Confederation of Sports, the sports wing of CPN-UML, on Tuesday honored youth chess player Rupesh Jaiswal with Rs 25,000.

FIDE Master Rupesh had won silver medal in bliz category and bronze under rapid category during Asian Age Category Chess Championship held in Singapore from June 8 to 17.
It was the first medal that Nepali player had ever won in an official tournament of FIDE, the international governing body of chess. National Sports Council Vice President Lama Tendi Sherpa gave away the amount and a letter of appreciation to Rupesh.
