Skipper Min Patel (39*) was the highest run getter for MCC as it made 124/5 after electing to bat first which CAN chased in 18.2 overs losing just five wickets with a Dipendra Chaudhary fifty.
MCC lost opener Jason Finch (6) to Paras Khadka with the score on 11 but his partner Neil Jones (22) and Keith Parsons (29) added 55 runs for the second wicket to rebuild MCC innings. Both Jones and Parsons departed in quick succession falling to the guiles of Sanjam Regmi as MCC slumped to 66 for the loss of three wickets. Sanjam clean bowled Jones while Parsons was caught by Gyanendra Malla.

No 4 Keith Newell’s also fell cheaply being stumped by Dipendra Chaudhary off Basanta Regmi to make it 72/4. Former England Test player Min Patel then played a captain’s knock to score a quick-fire 39 off 36 balls with three hits over the fence to resurrect his team. Sanjam took a couple while Paras Khadka, Basanta Regmi and skipper Binod Das chipped in with a wicket each.
CAN T20 also had an early setback as Paresh Lohani was run out by Mark Dale for one in the very first over. But Shakti Gauchan joined man-of-the-match Dipendra Chaudhary to put reins on the MCC attack. Dipendra hit four fours and two sixes while Gauchan hit five fours and a sixer in his 45 as they added 100 runs to take CAN toward victory.CAN suffered a late hiccup losing Gauchan, Pars Khadka (0), Sharad Vesawkar (6) and then Dipendra to slump to 114/5 in 17.1 overs but N0 7 Gyanendra Malla hit two boundaries in his five-ball 10 to take his team to victory in company of Sunam Gautam (1*) with 10 balls to spare.
MCC will play CAN Board XI in a one dayer on Wednesday.
