The Chariot festival of Seto Machchhindranath begins on Chaitra Ashtami of the Lunar Calendar every year.
The Chariot is taken to Ason via Tri Chandra College, Ratna Park and Bhotahiti from the starting point at Tindhara Pathshala in Jamal.
The Chariot will be taken to Hanumandhoka on Friday and Lagantol, where the mother is believed to reside, on Saturday.
The Jatra is observed for five days and some days could be extended in case the rope used to pull the chariot breaks off. But, chances of rope disjoint are not likely, Bajracharya said.
