Claiming that Pasang could have been saved if the hospital in Charikot had referred him to a better hospital without any delay, his family members and relatives vandalized several wards, disrupted activities in the hospital and demanded action against the administration.
Talking to Republica, Norsang Sherpa, a family member of the deceased, said, "They should have asked us to take him to a better hospital in time. We lost him due to their negligence." According to him, the relatives had told the hospital staff that they would take the patient to Kathmandu if needed, but were assured of best service.
However, Amrit Bhusal, a doctor with the hospital, explained that the patient´s condition seemed normal as the ´cranial hemorrhage´ was not identified when he was brought to the hospital in the evening. "He was reffered to Kathmandu as soon as we noticed cranial hemorrhage in the morning," said Bhusal.
Sherpa was rushed to the hospital as soon as he fell off the roof. The patient was under the care of a health assistant the whole night as there was no doctor at the hospital. A doctor arrived early in the morning to check him and he referred the injured to Kathmandu.
As the relatives and the locals began to vandalize the hospital, that has 55 beds, the staffs and doctors of the hospital escaped from backdoor.
