POKHARA, March 12: Assembly member of Gandaki Province Rajiv Pahari, who represents the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), has urged the government to bring sedition charges against CK Raut and his supporters for continuing their pro-secession activities in breach of Friday's agreement with the government.
He said that chanting of slogans for independent Madhes in the presence of Raut by his cadres in Janakpur was a blatant violation of the Friday agreement even before the ink has dried.

“CK Raut, who was carrying out separatist and secessionist activities, agreed to join peaceful mainstream politics while accepting Nepal's national integrity and sovereignty,” said Pahari speaking at a gathering organized to pay tributes to the late minister Rabindra Adhikari, who died in helicopter crash 13 days ago. “But chanting of slogans that Madhes is a separate nation and display of a Madhes map by his cadres in his presence in Janakpur [on Sunday] is anti-national and seditious act. Therefore, the government should immediately charge Raut and his cadres with sedition.”
He demanded that the government should either see to it that Raut acts as per the agreement or bring sedition charge against him. “No one should be allowed to carry out anti-national activities,” he said.
NCP leader Pahari, who was chairman of the party's youth wing, is seen as close to Prime Minister KP Oli.
