BUTWAL, July 12: Police have arrested Chakre Milan, who has been accused of many criminal activities in the capital, along with four of his associates, from a hotel in Bhairahawa. They were arrested on Sunday morning.Among the four associates arrested include Bishal Gurung and Chandre Karki. Police also recovered two home-made pistols from them.
According to a police source, Chakre Milan had arrived with his associates in Bhairahawa on Saturday evening from Kathmandu on his way to New Delhi. Police had increased surveillance soon after being tipped off about his stay at Ashoka Hotel that night. They nabbed him at 7:30 in the morning when he was trying to escape from the hotel’s veranda.
Police had planned to arrest him on Saturday night itself but none of them could identify Chakre Milan, said a police officer.
Chakre Milan has three different cases filed against him by Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu. The latest case feautures him as the main accused behind the kidnapping of Dendup Lama, 17, of Dhapasi about a month ago. Lama was released for a ransom of Rs 7 million.
