After the formal announcement of partnership on Monday, Chaudhary Group launched two new models of Lava´s Iris smartphone series in the Nepali market. S N Rai, director of Lava International and Nirvana Chaudhary, managing director of Chaudhary Group jointly launched the phones.[break]
The group also introduced four new models of touch phones and three feature phones.
“We will be empowering Nepali consumers with the latest products and as per the suggestion received from the customers we will be customizing the phone so that the phones are compatible,” said Rai, adding, “Lava is a brand that strives to understand customer´s requirements and has a complete in-house research and development center both in India and abroad.”
Addressing the function, Chaudhary said the group was confident that Lava phones would offer superior value, good quality and best-in-class features at an affordable price. “We are eyeing 10 percent share in Nepali mobile phone market within a year,” said Chaudhary.
The newly launched Iris N320 uses Android Gingerbread V2.3.6 operating system and is powered by 1 GHz processor. It has 3.2-inch capacitive touch screen, two SIM slots and 2 mega pixels camera. The phone comes with 256 MB RAM, 100MB internal memory and expandable memory up to 32 GB. It has gravity and proximity sensor and is very trendy. The company has priced the phone at Rs 7,500.
Likewise, Iris N350 has 3.5-inch capacitive touch screen with Android Gingerbread V2.3.6 operating system. The dual-SIM phone also sports a front camera for video calling along with the regular 2 mega pixel camera. Iris N350 has 256 RAM, 100 MB internal memory and expandable memory up to 32 GB. It supports Wi-Fi, GPRS and 3G connectivity. It is available at Rs 8,500.
Lava is planning to launch Iris N400 powered by Android Ice Cream Sandwich 44.0.1 operating system in the near future. Iris N400 uses 1 GHz processor and sports 5 mega pixel back camera and 0.3 mega pixel front camera.
“Our Android phones series will have at least 1 GHz processor and the screen size will not be less than 3.2 inches,” said Naveen Chawla, vice president-sales at Lava International.
The company has introduced Discover 128, C41, C12 and C11 in the touch phone series and KKT38, KKT22i, KKT34s in the feature phone series.
