Keshab Pathak, chairman of the program, told the press on Saturday that the program has been promoting cultivation of high-value crops in different districts of Karnali to a few districts in the eastern Nepal such as Jhapa and Morang.
"We are distributing seedlings and seeds of high-value vegetables worth Rs 1.5 million to Rs 2 million this year,” said Pathak. The program is also preparing nurseries of high-value crops such as almond, cashew nut, bamboo and sandal wood.

“Our objective is to prove that farmers´ income can be improved through commercialization in agriculture rather than following traditional ways of farming,” said Pathak.
Speaking on the occasion, CA member Gagan Thapa, said commercialization in agriculture is a must for growth of agriculture sector.
