KATHMANDU, Aug 9: Chairman of Dhading-based Children's Welfare Organization (CFO), Ramesh Dhamala, has said the orphanage has severed its association with some Germany-based donors following some differences between the two sides.
“A few weeks ago we decided to discontinue our association with the German donors as they frequently tried to dictate us,” Dhamala told Republica.
There is no connection between CFO and Carisimo Donors, read a recent statement issued by Dhamala.
German donors had earlier accused Dhamala of misusing donations provided by them for the education of orphans.
Donors had also pressed Dhamala to quit the post of the organization's chairperson immediately “as he did nothing to improve the situation of the orphans despite repeated warnings.” But after Dhamala refused to resign, the donors had stopped funding the CFO for six months.
Dhamala, who is also Dhading district president of Nepali Congress (NC), claimed that, “Attempts to remove me as the head of the organization is a part of the conspiracy to divert the money to some other places,” he said.
In a statement issued earlier by the Germany-based donors of the CFO, Roswitha Schroeter, Petra Pachner, Herwig Jantschik and Lothar Schmid had accused Dhamala of misusing the money to buy land for personal use.
“I am ready to face an international investigation into each and every donation made to CFO in the last 13 years by Roswitha Schroeter, Petra Pachner and HerwigJantschik. I can provide the proof of the land registered under CFO's name,” claimed Dhamala.
Dhamala also claimed that the donors weren't happy with him mainly after he refused to work as per their suggestions when they come up with wrong ideas. He also argued that recent activities of the donors' were also aimed at tainting his political career.
