KATHMANDU, March 3: The Nepal Rastra Bank has reduced the ceiling of remittance that an individual can send from one place to another place within the country. The central bank has reduced the remittance limit with effect from Wednesday.
The central issued a notice on Wednesday regarding the transfer of remittances to the sub-agencies and agents of remittance companies, reducing the limit to Rs 25,000 per transaction per person. Earlier, the maximum limit for such internal remittance transactions was up to Rs 100,000.
The central bank has stated that no change has been made in the limit of cash remittances sent from abroad to concerned persons or relatives in Nepal.
