CHITWAN, September 14: CCTV cameras have been installed in Chitwan's Madi to search for man-eating tigers. After a 68-year-old man from Ward No. 2 of Madi Municipality who had gone to graze his buffalo was eaten by a tiger on September 11, the team of Chitwan National Park started searching for the tiger by installing CCTV cameras.


According to Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, information officer of Chitwan National Park, four CCTV cameras have been installed at different places in Madi to monitor the possible tiger presence. The tiger had attacked and hid the body in the Amelia area around the park boundary.

Tiwari said that when a tiger was spotted in the slum area, a camera was installed to search for the tiger. Since yesterday, seven elephants, Nepali army, park administration and intermediate zone management committee officials have been deployed to control tigers. He said that the tiger had to be brought under control as the tiger was seen from time to time in the slum area.


The team is searching for tigers around Pandav Nagar, Bankatta. Lately, tiger attacks have been happening one after another in Chitwan. As many as 16 people lost their lives in the area of ​​Chitwan National Park and Division Forest Office in the last fiscal year due to tiger attacks.


This is the first such incident in the current fiscal year. Many wild animals in Chitwan have been killed by tiger attacks. Last fiscal year, five people lost their lives in Chitwan due to rhinoceros attacks and 3 people lost their lives in elephant attacks. So far, four man-eating tigers have been brought under control.
