KATHMANDU, May 2: Federation of Nepali Journalist (FNJ) and Photojournalist club Nepal on Wednesday lit candles in Maitighar Mandala to pay tribute to the journalists who lost their lives in the suicide bombing in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Ten journalists were killed in a suicide bombing. The Suicide bomber appeared to have deliberately targeted journalists, presenting a press card to police before joining the group standing near the first blast site.

Among the dead were Shah Marai, a veteran chief photographer for Agence France-Presse(AFP) in Afghanistan, who had worked for the agency for 22 years. More than 1,000 journalists have been murdered worldwide over the past 15 years.
