KATHMANDU, April 25: Nomination registration of candidates for the local level election 2079 BS has been fixed till 5 PM today. 

Candidates will be able to register their nominations from the office of the Election Officer established at 753 local levels from 10 AM to 5 PM today.

According to the election schedule, the nomination process of the candidates started from 10 AM on Sunday. The EC published the election schedule on March 18 for the registration of candidates in two days. Elections are being held for a total of 35,221 posts for 753 local levels across the country.

The EC stated that the details of the candidates registered for the post were updated on the first day of nomination registration. A total of 10,533 candidates have been registered in the information system of the EC.

The EC has stated that it has not received exact figures as technicians are entering the nominations registered with the concerned election office and the Chief Election Officer is verifying them.
