Federation of Computer Association of Nepal (CAN Federation) is introducing National ICT Scholarship 2075 in partnership with Lord Buddha Education Foundation (LBEF) starting this year.
The objective of the nationwide scholarship scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of the community. CAN Federation aim to provide these students with better opportunities for higher education in the sector of ICT. The scholarship also encourages female students to enroll in STEM fields, especially information and communication technology. LBEF is the implementing partner for this scholarship.
LBEF hosts 2018 alumni meet
A total of 49 students will be awarded scholarships, and seven from the total grantees will be selected from the seven different provinces of Nepal. The scholarship has further allocated 28 seats for female candidates whereas 21 seats are allocated for the general category.
An MoU for the scholarship, totaling a grand amount of eighteen million three hundred thirty-six thousand, was made in joint collaboration between CAN Federation, and LBEF. All scholarship programs are based on the courses of Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU), Malaysia. The scholarships will allow students to pursue BSc (Hons) in Information Technology at LBEF CAMPUS, Maitidevi.
Students who have completed 10+2 or equivalent from recognized board or Diploma in Computer Engineering from CTVET along with 50 percent in 10+2 and 50 percent marks in Mathematics at Grade X are eligible for this scholarship. Interest students can apply for the scholarship through CAN Federation’s website www.can.org.np or Lord Buddha Education Foundation’s website www.lbef.org before 25th July 2018.
The applicants must submit a copy of passport sized photo, birth certificate/citizenship, SEE and 10+2 mark sheets/entrance card of grade 12 and a recommendation letter from the local authority.
