Call to formulate foreign aid policy

KATHMANDU: Resident Coordinator of United Nations Torence D Jones has urged the government to formulate the new Foreign Aid Policy at the earliest so as to attract more assistance from the donor community. [break]



At a meeting with Finance Minister Shankar Prasad Koirala on Monday, Jones expressed satisfaction over the announcement of timely budget and gradual improvement of Nepali economy. He also suggested to the government to invest more on export promotion so as to achieve the target of graduating from least developed country (LDC) to developing country by 2022. [break]



Speaking on the occasion, Koirala said the elections for Constituent Assembly (CA) will be held in the stipulated time with the support from international community. He also said implementation of budget would be challenging for the government.
