Call to book wrongdoers in wide-body procurement

KATHMANDU, Jan. 5: Speakers at a program here on Saturday have sought actions against those involved in the procurement of the wide-body aircraft of the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) stressing that the sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has reported massive irregularities in the procurement.

KATHMANDU, Jan. 5: Speakers at a program here on Saturday have sought actions against those involved in the procurement of the wide-body aircraft of the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) stressing that the sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has reported massive irregularities in the procurement. 


At an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club on Saturday, they said that corruption should be brought to an end for the nation’s development and prosperity.

Claiming that financial embezzlement was carried out in the wide-body scam, Member of PAC Tejulal Chaudhary said that recommendation would be made for the action to the culprits based on the report prepared by the sub-committee. 


Likewise, another member of PAC Bishal Bhattarai said that whoever involved in the scam would be booked adding that a thorough study would be initiated on the issue related to the wide-body procurement. He, however, said that languages and other errors in the report should be corrected. 


Furthermore, former minister and lawmaker Sanjaya Gautam said that he raised the issue in the parliament following the huge corruption in the wide-body procurement. 


Also speaking at the same program, sub-committee member Chanda Chaudhary added that the culprits should be booked to end the corruption.
