KATHMANDU, June 15: An emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers underway at the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal called an emergency meeting.

The government has prepared to make Dr Baikunth Aryal, Senior Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, as the Chief Secretary. It is said that a meeting was held to decide on this.

As the term of the current Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi expires, the government is preparing to appoint another Chief Secretary. Chief Secretary Bairagi's tenure is up to the last week of next September, however, Dr Aryal is retiring on June 18. He is expected to be appointed as the chief secretary before his retirement.
