Cabinet decides to compensate Nar victims

KATHMANDU, Oct 7: The cabinet meeting on Wednesday decided to provide Rs 100,000 each to the families of seven yarchagumba pickers of Keraunja, Gorkha who were brutally murdered by locals of Nar, Manang in June for encroaching on their territory.



Similarly, it also decided to pay Rs 300,000 each to the families of Prakash Bista, Lokesh Bahadur Malla and Dev Raj Joshi who were killed during the conflict period on recommendation of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).



The meeting has also slapped a ban on putting illuminated hoarding boards of liquor and dance restaurants at night.
