Cabinet approves CC Act with terms and references and quorum

KATHMANDU, March 16: The meeting of the Council of Ministers held Friday evening has approved the Act with terms and references and quorum of the Constitutional Council (CC) with amendment.



As per the amendment, the quorum of the Council is mentioned four instead of five.[break]



Election Commission, CIAA and other bodies face lack of officials for failure to hold the meeting of the Constitutional Council.



With the new arrangement for the Constitutional Council, path will be open for appointment of officials in constitutional bodies.



The meeting also decided to dispatch the amended act on the Council (ordinance) for approval to the president.



The government also decided to provide a loan of Rs. one billion to Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) from the Employees Provident Fund for smooth petroleum supply, said Secretary of the Council of Ministers, Krishna Hari Banskota.



The government also promoted some three dozen under secretaries to joint secretaries in administrative group and diplomatic service under the regular process.
