Kathmandu, April 5: The Constituent Assembly meeting has been called for 1.00 pm Monday after a protracted period to facilitate parties' bidof consensus on disputed issues of the constitution.
The CA/Parliamentary Secretariat summoned the meeting at CA building in New Baneshwor for Monday. The meeting will witness condolence motion being tabled after the demise of CPN (U/L) leader and former CA member Ramnath Dhakal, according to CA Secretariat Assistant Spokesperson Sudarshan Kuinkel.

CA Chairperson Subas Nembang had indefinitely postponed the CA procedure to allow space for the parties to come up with an agreement on the contentious issues, but the parties failed to strike a deal despite repeated negotiations.
Meanwhile, UCPN (Maoist) led 30-party alliance has said it will not participate in the CA procedure or any meeting that will spur on the majority voting process.
On the other hand, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal has demanded incorporating Hinduism as state religion and federalism in the Questionnaire Committee. At the RPPN Parliamentary Party meeting held on Sunday, the party leaders warned of obstructing the CA meeting if their demands were not heeded, said RPPN Assistant General Secretary Rajaram Shrestha said.
The party has also expressed regret the CA Chair has not yet summoned the winter session. --RSS
