CA Chairman Nembang said he postponed the CA meeting for the indefinite time, so that there would be sufficient time to intensify dialogue between the ruling parties and opposition parties.
It was after the 30-party alliance led by the UCPN (Maoist) boycotted CA meeting over the formation of Questionnaire Committee in the CA, he said while addressing a program organized on the occasion of the Second Anniversary of the Girija Prasad Koirala Memorial Community College in the capital city on Saturday.
The polarization among the political parties represented in the CA, he said, would further lengthen the postponement of CA meeting.
According to him, the major political parties must hold meaningful dialogue. "The ruling parties and the opposition parties' alliance need to hold 24-hour discussion to give political way out to the country," he underscored.
On a different note, he said it would be a real respect to the late GP Koirala if the political parties brought constitution through consensus.
At the program, CA Chairman feted 12 different personalities who contributed to the establishment of the College.
Chairman of the College and the lawmaker Bhimsen Das Pradhan appealed to the political leaders to work honestly to complete the remaining task of peace process and promulgate the new constitution.
Similarly, another lawmaker of Nepali Congress, Gagan Kumar Thapa, has said it has been difficult to forge consensus in the disputed issues of the constitution due to partisan and individual interests.
Likewise, Professor Kedarbhakta Mathema complained that the State failed to make sufficient investment on development activities. RSS
