KATHMANDU, Feb 13: The by-elections for a vacant post of a member of the House of Representatives from Chitwan constituency-2 will be held on April 23.
Spokesperson for the Election Commission, Shaligram Sharma Paudel, confirmed that the commission has decided to hold the by-elections in Chitwan 2 on Sunday April 23.

A seat in the HoR is lying vcacant after the Supreme Court revoked the membership of Rabi Lamichhane, who was elected from Chitwan-2, on grounds of his citizenship certificate.
The apex court ruled that Lamichhane was ineligible to become a member of parliament because he did not reapply for the process of acquiring Nepali citizenship certificate after relinquishing his American passport.
