The police have arrested two youths on the charge of threatening businessmen in Tulsipur. [break]
One of the accused, Patinarayan Chaudhary of Tarigaon VDC, has been identified as former Maoist combatant, the police claimed. The police said that the accused threatened Tilak Khadka, a businessman from Tulsipur, using Nepal Telecom number 9847939712 and sought Rs 500,000 from Khadka.
The police seized more than 60 SIM cards from the accused.
The police also accused Chaudhary of distributing SIM cards to various criminal groups. A student at a local college, Chaudhary served as a Maoist combatant for six months four years back.
Similarly, Prakash KC was arrested from a local college on the charge of seeking donations. KC has admitted that he collected over Rs 200,000 from private colleges.
The Tulasipur Chamber of Commerce has submitted a memorandum to the Zonal Police Office demanding security.
