Business community seeks security

KATHMANDU, March 17: Business community has urged the government to take necessary measures to ensure security of business people.



A joint delegation of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN), who met Minister for Home Affairs Madhav Prasad Ghimire on Sunday to protest attacks on BK Shrestha, managing director of Radisson Hotel Kathmandu, made such a request.[break]



According to press release issued on Sunday, the delegation led by FNCCI President Suraj Vaidya briefed Ghimire about the attack. "The delegation asked the government to ensure security of business people."

A group of unidentified people had attacked Shrestha at Ekantakuna, Lalitpur on Friday morning.



The business leaders also requested Minister Ghimire to bring the culprits to book at the earliest.



Responding to the demand, Minister Ghimire said the government would take immediate action to investigate and identify the people involved in the attack. "Minister Ghimire assured the business community of security and asked them to work confidently," the statement said.
