Former President of the Federation of Nepalis Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Kush Kumar Joshi said lasting peace was needed for investment-friendly environment and constitution was needed for taking the peace to its logical conclusion.
He added that the business community was disappointed as doubts were created on whether constitution would be promulgated.Professor of Economics, Bhawani Khanal said that entrepreneurs need peaceful environment to invest freely.
He added that partisan interest of the top leaders has compelled the business community to suspect regarding the timely promulgation of the new constitution.
Banker Dipendra Wagle said that disappointment on the part of entrepreneurs and businessperson was natural due to delay in constitution writing despite the banks and financial institutions were not getting suitable sector for investment though they had sufficient in liquidity.
Economists were of the opinion that it was unfortunate for the country if the constitution was not written.
Likewise, economist Bishwambhar Pyakurel said entrepreneurs´ dreams of investing in agriculture, tourism; cottage and small industries and other sectors will be shattered if constitution was not promulgated this time.
