BUSINESS BRIEFS: NMB Bank, HimalRemit sign pact

KATHMANDU, March 25: Continental Financial Services, the principal agent HimalRemit, has signed an agreement with NMB Bank to start HimalRemit services. Issuing a press statement, the company said HimalRemit customers will be now able to use the services from all 20 branches of NMB Bank. Rajesh Upadhyaya, president of Continental and Upendra Poudel, CEO of NMB Bank signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.



HimalRemit has over 3,000 payment counters all over Nepal, including the agents in Continental´s network.[break]



Mansiri to sell Paikane, Perkins generators



KATHMANDU: Mansiri Trading Enterprises has been appointed the authorized dealer of Power Engineering India. According to a press statement, Mansiri Trading will now sell Power Engineering´s products Paikane DG Sets and Perkins generators in Nepal. "Power Engineering is one of the India´s leading manufacturers of generator sets, electrical panels and compact sub-stations," said the statement. Mansiri Trading has introduced various models of Paikane and Perkins diesel generator sets with capacity ranging from 5 KVA to 3000 KVA.



Bolger attends FNCCI interaction



KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) on Monday organized an interaction with James Brendan Bolger on commercialization and sustainable development of agriculture in Nepal. Participants of the interaction held extensive discussion on the draft of Agriculture Development Strategy (ADS) being prepared by the government with the assistance of Asian Development Bank. On the occasion, FNCCI President Suraj Vaidya apprised Bolger of the the recommendations made by the Nepali private sector for the upcoming budget.
