BUSINESS BRIEFS: MoneyGram's transaction up 14 %

KATHMANDU, March 12: MoneyGram, a global money transfer company, has reported transaction growth of 14 percent in 2012, a press statement of the company said. Since 2007, MoneyGram has more than doubled its network. It added more than 43,000 agent locations last year. “Our teams have done a fantastic job of meeting consumer needs in this region by focusing on the particular service elements required in each country, versus adopting a one-size fits all approach,” Grant Lines, senior vice president of Asia Pacific and Middle East for MoneyGram, said in the statement.



Transaction growth in South Asia was robust with network strength crossing 51,000 locations, according to the statement. MoneayGram offers bill payment services in the United States and Canada and money transfer services worldwide through a global network of more than 310,000 agent locations in 197 countries.[break]



Skoda exchange camp starts Wednesday



KATHMANDU: Škoda MAW is organizing exchange camp from March 13 to 16 at its showroom in Thapathali. According to a pres statement issued on Tuesday, MAW is conducting the exchange camp considering the customers´ wish, request and necessity. During the camp, the company will provide customers with easy exchange process, easy financing support, instant delivery, and best on-the-spot valuation facilities by reputed recondition houses.



“We believe that our customers will benefit from the exchange camp as it provides best valuation, easier financing support and easy exchange process,” Deepak K Agrawal, general manager of Škoda division of MAW, said in the statement. Customers can exchange their old cars with newly launched Skoda Fabia and Rapid and other models of Skoda like Laura, Yeti and Superb at the exchange camp.
