At a press meet organized to announce the agreement, the airline said the initiative had been taken to make optimum use technological advancements.
Global Bank is the third bank to join hands with Yeti Airlines for e-ticketing. The airline entered into similar agreements with Nepal Investment Bank and Everest Bank Limited a few months ago.
According to the joint press statement released on the occasion, the members of Yeti Airlines´ Sky Club can open new account in Global Bank at zero balance and avail 50 percent discount on debit card, free of cost internet banking services and get discounts in air tickets.

Janak Sharma, deputy general manager of Global Bank, said Global Bank´s account holders now can book tickets for Yeti Airlines´ flights to Pokhara, Biratnagar, Bhadrapur, Bhairahawa, Dhangadhi and Nepalgunj and make payment online. Sharma said the bank hopes to increase its customers´ base through its tie up with Yeti Airlines.
BoK launches 3 saving accounts
KATHMANDU, March 3: Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) started three new saving accounts from Wednesday.
In its new campaign of ´Saving for the Future,´ BoK has brought out ´Laghu Bachat Khata´, ´Laghu Muddati Khata´ and My Choice Savings accounts.
“We are trying to encourage the small and medium level financing through accounts,” Ajay Shrestha, CEO of the bank, said in a press meet organized on Wednesday.
“Laghu Bachat Khata is a normal saving account that requires Rs 1,000 as the minimum balance and gives 7 percent interest rate. The bank automatically adds Rs 266.67 in the account of the customers as soon as they open this account,” the bank said in a statement.

Laghu Muddati Khata is a fixed deposit account. It attracts 9.5 percent interest rate with the minimum balance of Rs 10,000. Customers of this account can also get the facility of VISA Credit Card.
My Choice Saving is for women and it attracts 7 percent interest rate.
The bank has a network of 33 branches, six service counters and 37 ATM terminals covering all the five development regions of the country.
Manakamana´s IPO oversubscribed
KATHMANDU, March 3: Manakamana Development Bank said on Wednesday that its initial public offering of 3 million ordinary shares has been oversubscribed.
The bank had issued ordinary shares from February 25 to March 2.
“The fresh issuance will raise the bank´s paid-up capital to Rs 1 billion from Rs 700 million,” the bank said in a statement.
The bank was known as Nepal CSI Development Bank till September 2009. The bank is also going to relocate its head office to Annapurna Arcade II in Durbar Marg.
