BUSINESS BRIEFS: BoK in Khairenitar

KATHMANDU, June 11: Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) has opened its 34th branch in Khairenitar of Tanahun. Bank Chairman Narendra Kumar Basnyat inaugurated the new branch on Friday.



BoK is the first commercial bank to start its operation in Khairenitar. [break]



The bank is providing all the facilities provided by its other branches like internet banking, ABBS (any branch banking service) and attractive deposit and lending schemes through the new branch.



“We are working to introduce new services for the comfort of the customers,” the bank said in a statement.





IME marks 10th anniversary



KATHMANDU, June 11: IME Remittance, which was established in 2001, celebrated its 10th anniversary on Friday.



The company started its operation from Malaysian and subsequently expanded its services to Nepal, UK, Australia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, the Philippines and many other countries.



“IME is committed to discourage money laundering and it with AML legislation as per local regulatory bodies and best international practices,” the company said in a statement.



IME is affiliated to the IME Group. The IME Group with annual turnover of about $500 million has major business interests in remittance, banking and finance, power generation, aviation, cargo, tour and travel sectors.





Ace launches new saving scheme



KATHMANDU, June 11: Ace Development Bank has announced a unique saving account known as ´Ace Freedom Plan´ under which everyone can take the benefits.



Issuing a press statement, the bank said the new scheme was an excellent opportunity for all. In this scheme, customers have an option to choose monthly income, deposit contribution, time duration along with the option of life insurance.



“After the maturity of the agreed duration, the bank pays monthly installments to the customers as per their requirement,” he added.
