KATHMANDU, Dec 18: A committee formed by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to produce estimated cost to construct Budhi Gandaki Hydro Power submitted its draft report to the government. The team, led by Swarnim Wagle submitted the report to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Kamal Thapa on Monday.
Earlier, PM Deuba had scrapped agreement with Chinese company that had been contracted by Pushpa Kamal Dahal during his premiership. After reassigning the contract to the Chinese company became one of the agendas of the Left Alliance during the election campaign, PM Deuba had formulated a committee to draft feasibility for national funding for the construction.
According to the draft report, Rs 260 billion would be required to construct the project.
