Budget session from Wednesday

KATHMANDU, July 7: The budget session of the legislature-parliament is all set to begin Wednesday. Speaker Subash Nembang received a letter from President Ram Baran Yadav on Tuesday summoning the sixth session of the legislature-parliament at 3 a.m. on Wednesday, as recommended by the government. In the budget session, the government presents its policy and program and the budget for the new fiscal year beginning mid-July.



As per the schedule, President Yadav will present the government´s program and policy in the parliament at 4 a.m. on Thursday while the lawmakers may register amendment to the policy and program on Friday. The next two days have been allocated for discussion on the policy and program and for vote of thanks. Minister for Finance Surendra Pandey will present the budget for the next fiscal year on Monday. After a two-day discussion on the budget, the parliament will present on Wednesday vote on account, the endorsement of which will allow the government to make expenditure from mid-July.
