KATHMANDU, July 5: Amid deepening confusion over the fate of the budget for the next fiscal year, Finance Minister Surandra Pandey on Sunday said the budget will come on time. Talking to myrepublica.com, Pandey expressed confidence that the ongoing inter-party negotiations will come up with some sort of understanding with the agitating Maoists on resuming parliament proceedings and presenting the budget on time.

Pandey said he understood the confusion surrounding the issue, but reiterated that the budget will come before the end of ongoing fiscal year (July 16) at any cost. "There should not be any obstruction to the presentation of the budget in a democratic system," he said.

Pandey, who was extremely busy in giving the final touch to the budget, also hinted that the ongoing negotiations with the Maoists were close to agreement. "Bargaining is going on over the words of the proposed understanding," he said.
