Buddhist monks visit Swyambhunath

KATHMANDU, Nov 3: The visiting team of Buddhist monks that arrived on Friday on a two-day visit to Nepal on the occasion of the Visit Lumbini Year-2012 visited Swyambhunath on Saturday.



On the occasion, the Buddhist monks visited the 2300 years old Charumati Stupa and Bauddhanath. The Buddhist monks are scheduled to visit important Buddhist sites in Nepal. [break]



A total of 88 Buddhist monks from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Taiwan have arrived here at the invitation of Charumati Buddhist Mission Nepal, Charumati Buddha Bihar and World Youth Monk Association, Nepal Chapter.



The Buddhist monks are scheduled to visit Lumbini this afternoon. Founder chairman of Charumati Buddhist Mission Nepal monk Tapassi Dhamma said that visits of Buddhist followers from different countries would help spread Buddha´s teachings and importance of peace at the international arena.
