SARLAHI, Sept 23: Ram Bahadur Bomjon, widely known as the buddha boy, has been compelled to take shelter in a house of his relative and devotee in Sarlahi district after the authorities banned him from meditating in the Dharahara community forest in Bara district.

Bomjon started staying in the house of Gopal Yonjan at Syangwadanda in Pattharkot VDC-1 of Sarlahi district from September 17. [break]"Bomjon had no choice but to respect the ban," Bomjon´s devotee Buddha Yonjan, 18.

Bomjon´s devotees disallow locals from visiting the house where he is staying with 15 foreign devotees. The place is 25 kilometers to the north of the East-West highway.

Gopal said they are planning to construct a road linking the village with the highway and visitors will be allowed to meet Bomjon only after the road construction is complete.

Bomjon claimed to have attained enlightenment and started preaching in May 2005.

He caused controversy on several occasions after disputes with locals and devotees in Bara.

Krishna Tapaswi, sub-inspector in the district informed that they are keeping close watch on Bomjon.
