Buddha Air inducts 17th ATR aircraft

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: Buddha Air, the leading private sector airline company, has entered 27th year of its operation.


The company said that more than 20 million domestic and foreign passengers have been served by Buddha Air, which has been flying in the Nepali sky from a small 18-seater plane for 26 years.

Buddha Air, which is currently serving with three ATR-42 and 13 ATR-72 aircraft, is going to induct another ATR aircraft within this October. With this, the number of aircraft of the company will reach 17.


Birendra Bahadur Basnet, executive chairman of Buddha Air, said that the technical, pilot and ground operation teams working in the airline company are constantly improving their capacity in accordance with the requirements of national and international regulatory bodies. He said, “We have been conducting regular audits and evaluations from national and international organizations to ensure the effectiveness of Buddha Air's flight services.”


For repair and maintenance of aircraft, Buddha Air has an ultramodern hangar which is one of the best in South East Asia from where domestic and foreign companies are also taking services.


Buddha Air has expanded the number of flights to various destinations with the slogan 'Traveller's time is our flight'. The company is operating 17 daily flights to Pokhara, 9 and 10 flights to Biratnagar and Bhairahawa respectively. More than half a dozen flights are flying to other destinations as well. The company said that it will gradually increase the number of flights to Surkhet, Tumlingtar and Dhangadhi.
