British Minister for Gurkhas to visit Nepal April 14-18

KATHMANDU, April 13: A junior British minister, who looks after the affairs of British Gurkhas, is visiting Nepal from April 14 to 18, said a statement issued by the British Embassy in Kathmandu, Monday.



The statement said British Under Secretary of State for Defense and Minister for Veterans, Kevan Jones MP, will tour various development projects undertaken by the Gurkha Welfare Trust and will meet Gurkha Pensioners.



The Minister has responsibility for Armed Forces’ personnel issues as well as Gurkhas.



“The Minister is also visiting as part of the United Kingdom’s support for the peace process as well as to strengthen ties between the United Kingdom and the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal,” said the statement.
