They joined Saraswoti Youth Club and Bouddha Football Club, who had already returned to the ‘A’ Division from this league held by the Nepal Football Association (NFA), registering impressive victories at the Dasharath Stadium on Monday.
BBC hammered Boys’ Sports Club (BSC) 5-1 with a hat trick from Akash Chhantyal in the first match of the day. Utsav KC opened BSC’s account in the 12th minute but BBC fought back through Chhantyal, who scored his second hat trick in this league, to earn promotion two years after being relegated. Bal Bahadur Ding Dong and Milan Chandra Rai scored the other goals for BBC which finished second in Group B on seven points.
Surprisingly, BBC Vice-president Khadga Prasad Thapa was not that elated after earning the ‘untargeted’ promotion. “We wanted to enjoy playing in the ‘B’ Division as there is no meaning in playing at the top level without producing top class local players,” Thapa said, perhaps aware of the tougher task that needs to be done in the future to avoid relegation from the ‘A’ Division. “But now that we have earned promotion, we have to make special preparations,” Thapa said adding that both the team and the executive committee of the club would be revamped before playing in the top flight.

In the second match of the day, United Youth Club beat fellow promotion contender Pulchowk Sports Club 3-1 to earn promotion. Pulchowk, which needed just a point from the match having already accumulated six, made a dream start scoring in the 55th second through Suraj Nagarkoti.
But a second half salvo from United Youth ended Pulchowk’s aspirations. Binay Maharjan, Sabin Nalamba and Ajay Poudel all found the net for United Youth after the interval to seal a famous victory that put it into the top flight after being relegated in 2054.
United Youth topped Group B with eight points ahead of BBC while BSC and Star Club finished on four points each.
