Rimal elected President of Kathmandu Valley´s FM body
KATHMANDU: A convention of Kathmandu Valley FM Broadcasters´ Forum held on Thursday formed an 11-member new Working Committee under the chair of Prabhat Rimal.
The convention of the umbrella organization for independent FM radio stations in Kathmandu Valley has elected Ghama Raj Luintel (Radio Sagarmatha) as vice president, R K Shrestha (Times FM) as general secretary, Manoj Tiwari (FM Adhyatma Jyoti) as secretary and Ajya Bista (Radio City) as treasurer. Likewise, Gopal Poudel (Star FM), Bijaya Hachhethu (Bhaktapur FM), Nikita Poudel (Gopi Krishna FM), Suraj Shrestha (Image FM), Narayan Rai (Maitri FM) and Santosh Bhattarai (Nepali Radio) have been elected as working committee members of the body.
While taking up the responsibility of president, the newly-elected President Rimal expressed commitment to work for the welfare of FM radios in coordination with other stakeholders.
Nepali youth abducted
NEPALGUNJ: An unidentified group of Indians have abducted 17-year-old Dharmendra Verma, a resident of Rambhapur village, Indrapur-7, from Rupaidiya. Verma had gone to Rupaidiya on Tuesday for some personal work. His family members said the abductors have asked Rs 2 million ransom for his release. Superintendent of Police Mahesh Bikram Sah said police are coordinating with their Indian counterparts to find Verma.
