Boys Union beats Chyasal to go top

KATHMANDU, Feb 3: Boys Union Club moved two points clear at the top of the points table maintaining its cent percent winning record in the Martyrs Memorial Red Bull B Division Football League with a 3-1 win over Chyasal Youth Club in the capital on Sunday.



Nishan Limbu scored in the 58th and 63rd minutes for Boys Union that was relegated to B division in 2010. Susan Lama of Chyasal scored an own goal in the 74th minute. Chun Bahadur Pakhrin pulled one back for Chyasal in the 71st minute.[break]



The result has secured the top spot for Boys Union until the end of the third round. Boys Union has nine points from three matches while second-placed Shree Kumari has seven points. Meanwhile, Chyasal is without a point after playing three matches.



In another match, Shree Laligurans Pulchowk Club achieved its first victory in the league defeating Swayambhu Club 1-0. Bikash Rai scored the all-important goal for Pulchowk in the 20th minute. After the win, Pulchowk climbed two spots up to 11th with three points. Swayambhu remained unchanged in the fifth place with four points.



Tusal will meet Kathmandu Club and Samajik will lock horns with Mahabir Studies and Athletics Association on Monday.
