Boxing and Muay Thai matches to promote professional combat sports

A fitness center, Gymkhana organized ‘GymKhana Fight Night’ at its premise, Maharagunj on Friday. The night had three boxing and three Muay Thai fights in 60kg, 65kg and 70kg categories.

A fitness center, Gymkhana organized ‘GymKhana Fight Night’ at its premise, Maharagunj on Friday. The night had three boxing and three Muay Thai fights in 60kg, 65kg and 70kg categories.


According to the gym, the fight night was organized to uplift and promote professional combat sports in Nepal.

The matches had 5*3 rounds, which followed the semi-pro rules. On 60kg category, Aashish Tamang and Raju Rai won beating Madan Dangol and Bikram Thapa in boxing and Muay Thai respectively.


Likewise, in 65 kg, Sabin Gurung (boxing) and Karan Bajracharya (Muay Thai) registered themselves as champions with slamming Ganesh Thapa and Santosh Lama respectively. The highest weight of the competition – 70 kg had matches - Koshish Shrestha vs Manish Dangol in boxing and Cyrus Gurung vs Bikash Bomjan in Muay Thai. The winners of 70kg were Manish Dangol and Cyrus Gurung.
