DANG, June 10: People living in the villages along Nepal-India border in Dang on Wednesday briefed a team of Constituent Assembly members on their plight. They told the border monitoring team of the CA members that they were forced to tolerate continued atrocities and abuse by the India paramilitary force Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB).

According to lawmaker Santa Bahadur Nepali, locals at Koilabas in Dang expressed grievances about the SSB personnel who "harass and mistreat" Nepalis along the border.

A group of lawmakers from Kathmandu are currently under border inspection mission amidst media reports that India has encroached upon Nepali border at various places and displaced Nepalis from villages in Dang. Nepali returned from Koilabas on Wednesday while other lawmakers led by Amik Serchan moved to other places in the region where India has allegedly encroached upon Nepali land.
