KATHMANDU, Aug 4: Dr. Punam Yadav, a research fellow at London School of Economics, has come up with her book ‘Social Transformation in Post-conflict Nepal: A gender perspective’. Her book was recently released in Kathmandu by Australia’s Ambassador to Nepal, Glenn White.

The book argues that social transformation in Nepal has always been a masculine construct and excludes female perspectives from the debate. Yadav also highlights the post conflict scenario where the women and the marginalized groups have found an empowering position in the society.

“This book is a unique contribution challenging current understanding and presents a new theory to study social transformation,” White said.

Dr Yadav had received the prestigious Australian Leadership Awards in 2010 to pursue her PhD at Universtiy of Sydney. She has extensively written research papers and reviews on gender, peace and social justice.
