The First Rifle Battalion of the army defused the bomb Saturday after it was found five days ago while using a dozer.[break]
The bomb, which was laid for safety of the Police Office during the ten year long armed war, was not extracted for lack of knowledge about it even after the war was over, said District Police Office DSP Bel Bahadur Pandey.
The bomb found while using an excavator in the premises, was defused yesterday by the army after four days of study.
In case the bomb which was under the ground, had exploded, there was the possibility of a large-scale damage to the office, said police.
The office of the police chief and the place of bomb planted are at few meters distance.
