BoK's campaign reaches to 15,000 youth

KATHMANDU: ´Financial Education´ campaign, a joint initiative of Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) and Save the Children under Youth Save project, has reached to about 15,000 youths across the country, a bank statement said on Sunday.



The MasterCard Foundation-Youth Save supported program was launched in 2011 to promote saving habits and enhance banking awareness amongst youth and children from low income sector. According to the bank, the program has been implemented from 21 branches to youths and children from nearby community schools, colleges, youth clubs, and community centers.



“We have plans to expand such activities in other parts of the country," Ajay Shrestha, CEO of the bank, said in the statement. Moreover, in order to help youths in translating theoretical knowledge into practice BoK has offered ´BoK Chetanshil Yuwa Bachat Yojana´, a saving product including a free piggy bank, from all of its 50 branches.
