BoK to add six branch offices

KATHMANDU, July 2: Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) has said that it is opening six new branches in Bardia, Dang, Kanchanpur, Kailali, Pyuthan and Rupandehi. The new branches are being added in partnership with Sakchyam Access to Finance Programme, according to a press release issued on Thursday.

The two institutions signed a partnership agreement on Tuesday to open new branches for enhancing access to finance in rural and semi urban market segments.


"Through this partnership with Sakchyam, BOK will disburse close to Rs 1 billion in loans targeting marginalized market segments such as farmers, women entrepreneurs, agriculture-focused businesses as well as other local SME and MSMEs. It will also facilitate more than 15,000 predominantly small deposit accountholders such as farmers, youth, and women to inculcate saving habit and join the formal financial system," the release quoted BoK's CEO Ajay Shrestha as saying.
