CHITWAN, June 16: Police have recovered the dead body of Rakhi Basnet, 23, of Bharatpur, Chitwan, who was attacked by a tiger earlier today. Basnet had gone to Radha Krishna Community Forest at 7AM with her friends to pick wild edible ferns, where the tiger attacked her. Basnet was a former police constable at Bharatpur, Metropolis-27.
Basnet’s body was recovered at noon, according to the Chitwan District Police Office. Nepal Army personnel shot five bullets into the air to frighten the tiger away, Spokesperson Narhari Adhikari for Chitwan District Police Officer said.
This morning 9-10 women including Basnet had gone to the Radha Krishna Forest to collect wild edible ferns.
