PARSA, March 1: Birgunj Sub-Metropolitan City has started a campaign to get rid of illegal structures built in public spaces.
The campaign began with the removal of such structures built in the Children’s Park at Adarsh Nagar in ward no 10 of the sub-metropolis since last Tuesday.

Furthermore, the sub-metropolis has begun retrieving some four bigha of encroached land surrounding Mairam Pokhari in spite of the outcry from the locals.
The sub-metropolis had built a children’s park on 18 katthas of land owned by Mairam Pokhari some four years ago. People living around the pond had encroached upon the pond’s land.
